Naru — Privacy Policy

Naru is an educational app for children aged 3–7, listed in the App Store Kids Category. Your child's privacy is a design priority, not a legal footnote. This page explains exactly what we collect and why.

What we collect

• The child's first name and gender: entered by the parent during setup and sent once to our server for a single purpose — generating the audio clips in which Naru greets the child by name with correct Arabic grammar. To synthesize the audio, the first name (inside a short, fixed greeting phrase) is passed to a text-to-speech service provider acting on our behalf — nothing else is sent to it. The resulting clips are stored on our servers (Google Firebase) keyed by the first name only. There is no account, no email, and no other identity attached, and they are never used for anything else.
• Anonymous usage data: generic events such as "lesson completed" or "planet opened" via Firebase Analytics (the ad-ID-free variant), used to understand which lessons work well. They cannot be linked to an individual child.
• Crash reports: via Crashlytics, to fix technical problems. They contain no personal information.

What we never do

• No advertising of any kind.
• No tracking, no advertising identifier (IDFA), no selling or sharing data with third parties for marketing.
• No accounts, logins, or passwords.
• No external links or purchases within a child's reach — everything sensitive sits behind a parent gate.

Data retention and deletion

Generated voice clips remain stored so they need not be regenerated on every use. A parent may request their permanent deletion at any time by emailing us (include the name entered in the app); we delete within 30 days. Changing the name in the app's settings replaces the old clips.

Payments

Subscriptions are managed and charged entirely by Apple. We never see or store any payment details.

Our website and cookies

This section applies to narukids.com, which is directed at parents — the app itself never sends any data to any advertising platform.

• When you visit our website we show a consent bar. Only if you accept, we use the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) to measure the effectiveness of our parent-facing ads on Facebook and Instagram.
• What is sent after consent: the page visit and taps on the App Store button. Never any names, child data, or sensitive information.
• If you decline, the pixel never loads and nothing is sent; the site works fully.
• You can change your choice anytime via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the homepage.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it changes, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
